Primetime @ Zouk
Friday, November 30, 2007 - 10:22 PM

"Primetime" was the gala theme last night at our company dinner/dance bash down at Zouk. It was kinda awkward for temp staff like myself to mingle among them, but like I said, it's been an eye opener. The food and drinks were all on the house and of course I treated myself to some good booze. I didn't stay as long as the rest did because I chose to be a good boy, haha yeah right.

Sheikh Haikel and Annabelle Francis. And of course, Ying Zi! haha. What a lovely couple they make, and Annabelle Francis is a very fun-loving person I think. Like you'd fall in love with her at first sight.

The crowd. Presenting...the network presentation team! (well, not a complete set though)
With Huey Sian and Serene. You so can't tell Serene is married right? And she's so pretty.
Jamie Yeo! Hock Chuan and I were so rapturous after we shot a photo with her. I'm tellin' you, she was oozing sexiness last night in that hot satin!
Even the presentation girls had to take a photo with our Nokia Football Crazy host!
With Hock Chuan and Apper. Apper's like my shifu at work. She's currently teaching us all the important stuffs on promo scheduling.
The yucky stage they didn't make full use of. And why wasn't there any dancing on the dancefloor?! Isn't it supposed to be dinner and dance?
Okay, the team wouldn't be complete without Eddie, so here I am! Still a lot of people missing...mind you, presentation team is huge okay?
After that, I was on my way home. Began clowning at an underpath in Orchard.

That's all for now folks. Good night. I need my good night rest.

men.style.com
Wednesday, November 28, 2007 - 10:43 PM
I have just voluntarily subscribed myself to reading men.style.com. Like how proud of myself I should be!

Anyways, I feel that the site has got a lot of nicely written columns on male fashion and an excessive wardrobe/gallery on the latest men's must-have, from colognes to shirts to aviators. Boys these days should be educated on proper fashion, I stress!

Okay. So you probably haven't been catching up with what I just said.

My gray matter is laggy now. So I shall turn in pretty soon- like now.

Going Zouk tomorrow evening after OT work. No it's not like I am overly obsessed with clubbing, this time it's more of job-related. But I guess it will be an eye-opener, I will fill you guys in tomorrow.

Jukebox
Monday, November 26, 2007 - 9:40 PM
Office life has been a breeze today and I am a happy bunny! Haha the two halves of the sentence are totally irrelevant (but I don't really care).

Gosh. This is so hilarious. A minute ago, Dad was like spraying insecticide all over the place and I had my shirt over half my face cuz the smell was unbearable. Then I have Mario's "How Do I Breathe" playing in the background. Like so...DIAOZzzz.

Now, I must revisit a not-quite-new song by Neyo.

"Sexy Love"
"...Sexy love, girl the things you do (Oh baby baby). Keep me sprung. Keep me runnin' back to you (Oh baby I)..."

Yeah, you know the lyrics. And it goes on and on.

But I fell in love with the song once again this afternoon, back when I was in office listening to this repeatedly. I don't really know how to describe this but I think this song is so sensual, like it sends very visual images when just listening to it.

I wanted to post the MV up, but after watching it I realised it isn't so promising afterall. But I managed to get the acoustic version...please listen!

Do You Hear The Carols Being Sung?
Sunday, November 25, 2007 - 10:31 PM
Christmas! I love festive seasons, though it's an annual thing but something tells me this year's gonna be really special. I am so looking forward to Xmas!

Disney's Enchanted is a splendid family treat for the young and old, you must watch it! I love every details in it...the chirpy birds and the playful chipmunk (my heart sank when I saw the rodent being hung with its arms clipped to the hanger!). How Giselle appealed to the animals with her voice, and like wth how did she manage to get cockroaches and rats to clean up the house?! The mv-scene at the park was very delightful and it felt so Mary Poppins-ish all a sudden. Okok, in which case this is a highly recommended movie all y' folks! Sends hearts fluttering yup.

Jo sort of said that I am in a state of airyfairy fantasy sometimes, that I am not being realistic enough with life. Hmmms. Food for thought, maybe I don't like reality checks...keep us further away from ideas. But he's right maybe, that we need to keep a balance between both elements- being realistic and having our dreams.

Nite. Work resumes tomorrow!

Warmth
- 10:05 PM
A tinge of sweetness amidst the cool calm air, like you can almost taste it.
In the comfort of home, I know I am safe.

With the knowledge that you will stand by my side always
Nothing else matters anymore.

Happy Birthday Jaron
- 9:58 AM
It was big brother Jaron's birthday party yesterday at Sentosa Costa Sands. Though it wasn't much of a bash with the atrocious audio system acting culprit the entire time and many of Jaron's friends didn't exactly turn up last night, but it was glad to see him and catch up with some people whom we haven't met for a long time.

A happy handsome 28, big kor kor!

JS and I met up before dinner at City Hall because I needed to get a present for Jaron last minute and JS happened to be there, so. We basically prowled from Raffles City to Citylink and onto Marina Square and I settled on a CK boxers in the end. Thanks to JS.

We stopped by at my favourite Azabu Sabo to rest our tired feet and shared their signature matcha icecream. I like the sweet potato that sat right under the icecream with the red bean paste inside, very yummilicious.

Mr JS

A failed attempt to quickly hide away from the cam.

Ah, I want to catch Enchanted and The Golden Compass soon!

Santa, This Christmas I Wish For...
Friday, November 23, 2007 - 11:34 PM
Xmas is on its way and Eddie has been a good boy this year, so it's high time I come up with a wishlist...before it's too late!

(LOL!! This is supposed to picture the ideal better self in near future)

1. Grow Taller (by 2cm at least, because 170 is my ideal height)
2. A better built
3. A good haircut! I wanted to say Kimura Takuya's hair, but after his latest Gatsby ad shot, I think better not.
...okay this is getting too superficial.
4. Driving License soon T.T
5. Adidas Shoes - I can't find the pic but it's black and glossy with red stripes and it's very popular in a lot of shoes retail shops.

6. Shades!

7. A new pair of mint white flip flops to replace the smelly husky old one which I tore one of the straps out accidentally a few months back.

8. Shopping Spree once my paycheck comes in. (okay that should go under a to-do list)

9. Get my Adidas Originals a new strap cuz it broke two months ago and that watch means a lot to me and I don't think I can find it anywhere else these days.

Okayokay. It still is, afterall, overly superficial. So something for a change...

10. That mommy gets well really soon and stay happy always! =)
11. That I get to meet up with my best buds soon, i.e. ZY, JS, Fye, En, Woon, Droo...

WTH. Did I just give away my height?!

Ah. The list seems exhaustive. I will make another attempt some other day at writing the list.

Nite.

Sincerity
Thursday, November 22, 2007 - 8:55 PM
Gift from the heart, but how many are truly worthy of receiving?

Have been listening to a few good rock hits lately off mom's Zen Micro, I think brother had it uploaded. Work's been processing on a monotonous note, that's why it's always good to have an mp3 player to keep me moving.

I feel like a 笨蛋 (dumb egg) today. Volunteered to help ZiXuan complete the later remainding half of his log and ended up finishing my work later by an hour. The worse part is having ZiXuan to leave me in the lurch and just silently take his leave. Must claim my OT pay tomorrow, this is so unjust!

Friday - MTW NSFs Reunion @ Chong Pang
Saturday - Jaron's Birthday Bash @ Sentosa Cove
Sunday - God Knows
Monday - Back to Work!

Life hasn't been really nice to me lately. But I'm still surviving.

Get Working!
Sunday, November 18, 2007 - 9:31 PM
I think I forgot to mention about this in my earlier posts. But in case you haven't notice, I'm working!

Where you ask?

ESPN STAR SPORTS.

Now there. It's no glamour and fun working at a prestigious company like this one, and I don't think I am offered the luxury of interacting with any well-known anchorman or columnist (I wouldn't recognise them anyways).

My job title sounds really trivial - "temporary data entry assistant". Like so WTH.But technically speaking, I belong to a small department known as presentation/promos. My jobscope entails long hours in front of a computer working on a primitive software programme which supposedly is meant to predetermine the sequencing of the promos for every segment of the break. Only that the computer isn't smart enough to figure out which and what promos go for which segments. So it's basically a lot of manual work on our side.

No one really appreciates or gives a thought about the hard work which goes behind every few minutes of commercial breaks/promos aired on TV.

Back to my work. As easy as it sounds, what I actually do is more than meets the eye. I shouldn't dwell into details about my job out of basic work ethics though. I will be, however, expecting occupational health hazards in the long run...I mean, having to sit in front of the monitor for long hours can be quite detrimental to the back and eyes. Sianzzzz.

I have a very nice upper study Serene who has been generously patient with my slow pace of learning...AHHh, but I must keep up because there is so much to learn. I am currently allocated a temporary computer desk beside her cubicle.

Okay, that's about it. Hope I can survive the next few months in ESPNStar. Have been reading up on all the different sports program broadcasts and live competitions featured on ESPNStar.

A film and a few great guys
- 1:59 PM
Caught Hero finally with JS (as promised) and a few other great pals. Jeric, Joseph and Kelvin. Must bring mama to watch the film next time, 'cause both of us are ardent fans of Takuya Kimura and the Hero series back when it was screened on TV many years back on Channel 8.
Later we had supper across Great World City. Yummy wanton noodles that solved my tummy ache miraculously.

I like this photo a lot with the background.

Ciao!

In The Face of Problem
Thursday, November 15, 2007 - 9:15 PM
What do you do when you face a problem?

Some choose to run away. The escapist approach.
I, on several accounts, have attempted the above mentioned.
But some if not all debt come back to haunt eventually.

Some choose to frown over the issue and play victimised.
And wilfully think of it as a one-sided problem on the other party's end.
But if you ask me, I say nothing gets solved and both parties get hurt in the end.

Others confront it head-on, in a hot-headed fashion. Negative heroic acts are too common these days, and I think most have gone beyond dramatic scale. Something instinctive but highly risky.

An alternative is to rationalise the issue and justify our emotions. No hard feelings should be involved because they cloud our thoughts. Unpleasant emotions gets in the way of decision making and they displace a good opportunity to keep ourselves happy even just for the day.

Dealing with a problem, almost any problem, requires tact and a calm mind. It's a worthy skill; I'm still picking up.

600 entries and still writing...
Wednesday, November 14, 2007 - 5:34 PM
This marks my 601st entry in blogspot. A lot of sentimental fluff inside since 2005 and I am still writing.

Osh I've got through my job interview and will be reporting for work on Friday. おもしろい!I hear there will be a large group of freshly ORD-ed personnel reporting on the same day as I am. Oh well, we'll see how things go. ><

Watched BC on dvd at home today, quite a good sexy movie. I like the use of sarcastic yet witty humour inside, hahs.

I wasn't quite sure about uploading this. But heck. Pungent emo crap, eat this.

I can't leave this out...it was Azabu Sabo again at Marina Square last weekend with a group of friends. And I spotted Richard, my online friend who happens to be my neighbour too, at Topman but we couldn't recognise each other at first. Bahs.
Azabu Sabo's signature Matcha Milkshake, something to dieeee for!

This photo has been firework-ed. Eeks.

Mr Jeric with his dead puppy eyes. LOL.

Boy, You've Grown!
Monday, November 12, 2007 - 7:32 PM
Yuya Yagira. I nearly though I would forget that name.

A really gifted boy who shone in his early phase of career in showbiz, I will remember him always for his candid brilliant acting in Nobody Knows. (darn, I know I wrote an entry about this movie in J1 but I just realised all my entries back then were swept away when my previous server crashed)

Watch the video below - a little montage to the film and a dedication to abandoned little kids out there - it's so sweet you just want to tear and have kids! hahaha.

But now the adorable little actor I used to know has grown up le; I can't wait to catch his new movie - Sugar and Spice, that explores into the entering of adulthood and lovelife at teenage. Look it up on the net yup?

Gosh. Something out of the point. But a scary thought just floated past: what if blogspot crashes one day together with all my entries that were so painstakingly written?! dies. how to do backup siah?

Britney Spears and Random Musings
Friday, November 09, 2007 - 5:15 PM
What's with the seemingly endless pro-Britney proclamations by bloggers these days? The "don't give up Britney because we love you" shit. Okay, I'm not being disparaging here, just baffled because I have never been, by such extents, such an ardent fan of anybody.

Suddenly Britney Spears' "Everytime" rings in my head.

Ah! The good food in Taiwan has really spoiled me this time. Eddie needs to work on a 324632 day diet (okay that number came random)!

Life's been good to me today. Gymmed / swam with Jo and I think I had a moderately good sweaty day. =) I will need to burn those extra calories more very soon!

Yikes need to comb my cupboard for my executive wear for interview coming Tuesday, what a headache.

On Friendship
Thursday, November 08, 2007 - 12:52 PM
A series of monotonous events that when spread out across my lineup of activities yesterday seemed so insignificant and not worth reminiscing.

The only excruciating part was when everything turned sour towards the end.

And I needed some time to digest what actually happened but I was too tired being in the midst of the yucky episode and all. At a point in time I think I got lost, but now I am trying hard to trace back my thoughts and rationalise the emotions I have been going through.

I don't really want to pen down details but the nitty gritty of it all is that I got a bit disheartened with friendships. As one grows up, it becomes somewhat a growing desire to want to juggle all sorts of relationships and failure to do so only makes it even more unbearable. Like I want to please all my friends but we all know that it's almost impossible. But I guess I will have to learn to let go sometimes knowing that being so persistent in a relationship doesn't really help all the time.

I guess I'm just terribly annoyed with the situation itself and not with the people that got themselves implicated into it. Yup so I'm shedding some comfort to say that it's not anyone's fault for making things looked so ugly last night.

Thank you JS for coming out to have dinner with Eddie last night =)

Gosh. I think I just wrote a chunkload of nonsensical blabbers but I am feeling so much better than before! Bah, silly eddie bounces off to town now. Byebye.

ORD
Tuesday, November 06, 2007 - 6:47 PM
Finally, I'm freeeeee! To be absolved from the national conscription is such bliss, and with my pink IC on hand shimmering under the lights.

We were presented with a medal by the unit each; I thought it was quite demeaning to term our appointment as "assistant instructor". but who cares, really. On top of that, I got my "Best Soldier of the month of April", thank god cuz I thought I'd never see it.

In other news, I'm on the lookout for a job. Most probably going for a job interview on Friday, I hear the post is administrative work at ESPN and they pay good money. Yups.

Then there's my nightmarish TP (again you ask?) on the 21st. Fingers crossed. T.T

Christmas feels so near. I can't wait to celebrate it with my loved ones soon...
