Long Weekend

I feel so liberated from tiring army life. at last. (!!!)
On high the whoooole day, Michelle can attest to it. Hah. I reign Orchard once again today...and has returned home feeling guilt-ridden cuz I'm damn broke now. Negative financial status. Booo. Had to resort to using NETS. And I thought I won't need to touch it, at least not while I'm still serving NS. Booked out this morning and gave myself some grace time before rushing down to CHS gymnasium. Bought chicken essence for Wang and Limlim and that *jialat* blasted a big hole in my wallet. Allow me to leave out the superfluous details @ gym. Ok? Umm. Met up with my cousin Michelle for lunch @ Paragon Sushi Tei! Yes. My favourite makan place! Aiyohx but the food was disappointing today, I guessed it had something to do with the exceptionally large number of customers today. The waitresses had to rush and dish out the food, we (mic and I) assumed the chefs compromised the quality of the food in order to meet demand. Anyways, we still ate to our heart's content. Oishiyoooo! Bought new pair of thongs at Royal Sporting House. It's evenly heightened at the base which is what I like precisely - so that I will look taller wearing it! ![]() SWEE HOR? I have successfully converted into a contact lense user. So happy that I brilliantly managed to wear my contacts on this morning, esp. after so many consecutive failed attempts previously last week. Epps. This translates to me being able to wear shades, finally! Hahhaa. but I didn't get any shades today lor. Shall watch over my financial spendings, will probably buy one once my next allowance pay reaches. Shucks. My paragraphs somehow don't relate to one another. Okay. Cut the chase, point is, I'm broke again lor. My breakdown of spendings today: Sushi @ NTUC : S$4.80 Chicken Essense @ NTUC: S$13.80 Sushi Tei @ Paragon: $38/- Cheesecake @ Crystal Jade: S$3/- Thongs @ RSH: $14.90 Drink @ Carrefour: $0.50 Contact Lenses @ $70/- -------------------------- Total: S$145/- !!! This is intolerable. Spendthrift here is condemned. Labels: A Day's Account, Random Blabbers, Shopping {./ 0 CONFESSIONS }

My application for NTU BACC has been approved. Whoahhs. Guess I will most likely choose NTU over the other two schools. NUS is a lan-jiao lah, the office of administration shortlisted me for Architecture and Industrial Design (which is like what, my third or fourth choice)...so disappointing. Haven't heard from SMU yet after my interview, chances are that they will accept me. I'm still harbouring my final decision. Although NTU Accountancy appeals to most of us on a larger scale in terms of its brand name and experience -I can safely leave NUS out of the picture since its BAA(Acct.) has yet received accreditation- SMU has its own strengths just as well. Nevermind. I just deleted an entire paragraph. No point laying out my dilemma on blog. I will find an answer in time, hopefully lah. ON to ARMY life this week. The entire week was hell, totally. There was hardly any spare time for the trainees to catch a breather. You have no idea how fucking demoralised I was on the day of GypsyEx2. Section training was immensely strenuous already. You should REALLY look at our report sick rates, man. They are SOARING. Then came GYPSY exercises on Wednesday and Thursday. We had to plough through the thick jungle and navigate our way to locate various checkpoints in like...erm middle of nowhere. I didn't catch much sleep during those few days. Damn shagged. Luckily I got my well-deserved rest the whole of yesterday after bookout. Woke up at 10AM today ("P). Happy Birthday to Don! ("J) Labels: A Day's Account, Army

Was browsing through my archives a minute ago. ...suddenly the scariest fact plopped on me. I'm maturing faster than I can handle. In other words... I'm ageing. (sighs) There are already so many things to distress me. Enough. Lemme formulate a wishlist/agenda now to entertain myself(in case you are wondering, I'm still in da company messroom, sergeant never call me down) Sigh. I miss school. I bet most of my JC friends would agree with me. "BUT, I DON'T WANNA GROW UP!" Labels: Random Blabbers
Rotting in camp
- 8:54 PM
Cooped in ghetto camp serving my nation as a CDT. Company Duty Trainee. @!#$%~!!!
Okay I shall not file any complaints here, the guys on guard duty have better rights to voice our their displeasure compared to this whiny CDT here sitting comfortably in the mess room blogging. On the bright side, my mess room rocks! You guys should see it, a pity we can't bring in cameras. It's fully equipped with a 20plus inch TV complemented with a DVD player. Then we have three sets of PC in the room(I'm still exploring the infinite number of games they have here!), one nice nice hifi isolated on one side of the room, and most of all comfy lime sofas(like eleven of them) filling the space of the room. I don't get to use the mess most of the time, it's often crowded- save for today. Wonder when I will have to report to company office later to SGT LOH. ("P) Lucky for me CDTs on weekends are quite slack. And I don't expect to pick up too many phonecalls on saturdays as well. So many people I wanna meet right now. Many whom I haven't seen for months! ...Stanley & Michelle(happily attached and have left me out of the picture!!! "P). ...maomao! ...my entire 04a11 classmates. ...oooO my bmt buddies! http://b.zhongsou.com/l.dll?DoRequest_r&id=1275022&word=%CD%BC%BF%E2&cid=289 >>an interesting webpage with creatures from the deep. My brain juice is running dry. Shall get some rest and do some teevee-ing. hahah. Labels: A Day's Account {./ 0 CONFESSIONS }
CDT gulped my saturday!
- 6:28 AM
Booking in camp in about an hour's time again. It probably won't be any big deal normally but this time I will be the only one in the entire delta company who is booking in LORRRR! Like WTH! And no, I'm not confined for any misconduct. Neither has SISPEC lived up to its "Suffer in silence plus extra confinement" reputation. I'm just bloody cursed to get CDT(company duty trainee) on a nice weekend. So too bad lor, can only suck thumb and toe while the rest of my fellow trainees are enjoying their long weekend bookouts. http://therainbowconnection.blogspot.com/2006/04/with-pride-we-lead-thats-sispec-school.html >>Bernie has got quite an autistic written entry on the school we are all in now and hate very much. Why is April such a happening month with so many of my friends' birthday coinciding on the same month? My dad. Don. Gerald. Tammy(I think). And my buddy Shawn. Ughs, speaking of whom, I haven't gotten shawn his belated present. Yikes. Will be late most probably. Don't wanna 'tio' any extras for being late on my first and only day of CDT. So goodbyesss. Shagged from head to toe. Delta company has been going through hell the past few days. Lots of 'chong-sua-ing' in the mini-jungles and by now my feet are already sore. I've got blisters on both soles, sad right? But it's kinda common for NS boys. And I take back what I said about our commanders being nice to us and all earlier on. They are realllly starting to show their true colours finally, most of us have gotten a taste of it. Two nights ago, SGT Ong went down really hard on us for not following his instructions and I got to experience my very first change parade, i.e. we had to run up to our bunk and change to another set of attire within 2min then fall in immediately. Some more the 44 of us were given only 10 min to bathe using the 14 bathroom cubicles. I was one of the luckier ones who got to bathe, the rest didn't share the same fate. My buddy even had to sleep with his camouflage cream on. So we turned in at 0030h and woke up at 0515h. That explains why I slept through the night yesterday and woke up only at this hour. =P Welfare. Where is the WELFARE I ask?!!? Now I'm really starting to think my instructors are all sadistic nuts!!! The only sane guy left around in Delta is my CSM! Really inspired by his speech yesterday with the appointment holders out field. He never puts on his airs and would level trainees as equals with the rest of the commanders, and he's the only high-ranking commander who's visibly speaking up for our welfare most of the time. A dedicated and caring man like him certainly wins our hearts. I like my 2IC as well. Simply because he's the funnnniest commander around who can make me laugh so much. He practically adds a bad word out of convenience in his every sentence! And his 'kan-ni-nah' is damn comical. My OC. There's nothin nice I can say about him yet. NS life aside. Wonder how Zee and Maomao are doing in BMT now and how my previous BMT buddies are doing now in their current respective vocation... boo. And to the girl who has found the man of her life, I congratulate you from the bottom of my heart. ("j) Oh I bought a new pair of red PONY. It was a really good bargain purchase and the shoes should supposedly substantiate my happiness long enough to make me forget about my Adidas shoes for the time being. Haha. But the shoes are currently with Don...will post em up on blog once I get my hands on 'em! Okay. My stomach's rumbling. Shall go grab a bite for breakfast. You guys enjoy your good friday~ Labels: A Day's Account

.Life as a SISPEC trainee may be monotonous. There's a lot of waiting time embedded with admin time involved, so most of the time we are slacking in our bunk until further instructions for fall-in are given. To be honest, I really have nothing to complain about life in SISPEC. We are definitely more fortunate compared to officer cadets and guard trainees by million fold. For the time being, I am not thinking about any crossover attempts to OCS. Yet. I mean, yes I do want to go OCS. And I can be quite desperate if I really want to. But my willpower fails me. Haha. Few days ago something just popped into my mind, that it takes a lot more than what I currently have to become a good (or merely a decent one) commander. Surely the higher allowance pay as a second lieutenant officer doesn't qualify as a good reason for me to want to go OCS. It takes loads of responsibility, I for sure know that I don't have such reasonable capacity yet...neither can I say the same for the current batch of OCS trainees. ugh. The perm staff in Delta coy are great. Think we are really well-treated here in SISPEC. Hah but the "Suffer In Silence. Please Endure, Continue" acronym still stands. ~ Abrupt interruption from Don. So Goodnight..I have an interview with the dean from Sch of Accountancy at SMU early tomorrow morning. Shortlisted for admission lor. Hohohoho. Labels: A Day's Account, Random Blabbers
