Have recovered from my little melancholic episode last night thankfully.
So many things to talk about but don't know where to start from. Returned from SIT test last night. Six recruits from my company, including myself, was attached to Jaguar coy cuz we missed the actual SIT test done by my company the earlier week. The past few days out in jungle has been a so-called major transition for myself in army life. I've learnt to appreciate my company so much, you have no idea how grateful I am for the treatment I have been receiving in Falcon Coy. I had no idea too- that was before I joined the Jaguars. I was traumatised by the kind of tekan sessions the recruits had to suffer there, and yes it was truly a culture shock for the six of us who spent 3 days with the Jaguars at the reclaimed land site. ...Innumerable jumping jacks and pushups that make up their 5BX every morning. ...Forming up of their details in neat rows in pushup position. ...Hah, I can forgive the fact that they don't get nightsnacks considering it's more of a luxury thing for the Falcons. ...The way I look at it, the Jaguar sergeants treat their recruits like toys...almost something to play with. I don't understand how the Jaguars can put up with their commanders. They probably don't have a choice in any case. Somehow they reminded me of POWs. And I don't understand the old school of thought in military teaching. It's ridiculous. Recruits being treated like dogs to be manipulated helplessly. Or maybe it's because of the welfare that I'm receiving in Falcon coy that has transformed me into a spoilt recruit. Are we too pampered? I choose not to acknowledge my coy as a slack company, rather our commanders are reasonable and humane when it comes to training recruits. And that's how a commander should truly live up to one of the SAF 7 core values- which is CARE FOR SOLDIERS. Really. On the other hand, I scorn at the Jaguar commanders -not all of course, I mean there are bound to be upright commanders. You DO NOT instill fear into your recruits just to get em movin'. Commanders don't earn respect that way. Damn it. I don't why I'm getting so uptight about this. Anyway I'm glad that I went through all the shit the past few days during SIT test, really thankful for such an experience. I've learnt to appreciate the people and things around me more than ever. And yes, I'm truly proud to be a Falcon warrior. Haha. So much blars about NS is going to bore us all. Dad has gotten a new car- Hyundai Verna Accent. It's kinda like a hybrid between Nissan Sunny and Toyata Corolla. New model that has been introduced into the local market recently only. Umphs. Going to book in soon in two hours' time. So, Boo. Having reservations as to whether I still want to go command school. Time will tell lor. 16km route march on Monday. IPPT on Tuesday, and I'm still fighting for my gold. Will be collecting my A-level results on Wednesday, hopefully we'll get to book out on Tuesday night. And I'm looking forward to seeing my classmates! That's all for the updates. Blogging lately has been quite a chore for me. Don't have much time, so todolo. Labels: Random Blabbers {./ 0 CONFESSIONS }

Every little thing about NS
- 11:25 AM
Every little thing about NS life... » Ants, centipedes, termites, gargantuan houseflies...you name it. » Mud. Soil. Sand. What's new? » Green. Yes. Dirty green. » Chao recruits acting garang in front of commanders » Standard Obstacle Course. Oh man, you gotta love it. Cuz it's something to die for. » Leopard-crawlin' in d mud. » @ Live Range where I get to exhibit my wowo shooter's skills » Standby area. One thing recruits dread the most. » Recruits being momentarily estatic about bookout » Always on our toes, getting ready to fall in at any inauspicious timing » Talk-cock session as recruits' favourite pastime » "KNOCK IT DOWN!" I MISS HOME!

HOME SWEET HOME!
Nothing beats home now! Eddie chooses to be a homely person for he has learnt his lesson well after field camp. The past week was hell for me, my entire company went through lots of shit but there was fun laughter peace and joy amidst as well. Field camp is like mud and my favourite cheesecake all mashed together. Okay lousy analogy. Still. I truly enjoyed the company of my section mates, really. Things in army are finally settling down for myself as a recruit. And it's good to know that your bunkmates are there with you during field camp to brave danger and shit with you throughout. (Whimpers) I got bitten by centipede on the very first night of field camp lah. How sway is that?! I vividly remember crawling out of my basha tent with a swollen painful back and waking my buddy Chris to go see medic at 4am. Curse that stupid medic who wasn't on standby but was sleeping like a pig. I had to bear with the pain until dawn. So many things to talk about. But due to time constraint, everything shall be summarised in meaningless phrases/words: combat rations, accessory food packs!!! , Digging of trench sucks hell! And I Can't believe we will be doing this again in command school!!! Some of my section mates met up at Marche after our bookout for lunch! BOOKOUTBOOKOUTDAY!!! Don't you love it? And marche once again has rocked my ass, or rather my taste buds. ![]() CHeesecake and icecream waffles! It's divinely satisfying enough for my minitummy. Hahahahaha! Excuse my astaticism. ![]() ![]() ![]() Below are photos courtesy of RPS REC WAYNE: ![]() Wayne's good wif angles for camerashots. ![]() ![]() OIIi. and to all falcon coy members who happen to be 'stalking' my blog -yes you kelvin!- or whatsoever, tag hor!
